Jim Crockett Sr. was very involved with wrestling up to and past his involvement with Charlotte's minor league team (Charlotte Orioles/Knights) and would often host and promote professional wrestling championship fight cards at the the Charlotte Oriole's stadium. This event was held after his passing.
