1921 Vogue Cover
Framed Vogue “New York Fashions” cover from March 15th, 1921. The cover features an illustration of three women surrounding a podium. The women are dressed in extravagant gowns with different patterns, fabric detailing and plumes. The illustration follows the art deco style of the time. Other Vogue issues of the same year were also characterized by a similar composition, with a large rectangular illustration featuring a woman/women as the forefront, with the “Vogue,” title placed centered above the image and “The Vogue Company,” as well as the publisher “Condé Nast," centered below. All Vogue covers used illustrations as the forefront before 1932. These Vogue issues sold for thirty-five cents at the time.
