"Employing her special zing, Sussman crafted a typographic wonderland for the cutting-edge department store of its day. She says it was likely Magnin couldn’t afford 3-D lettering for its multiple signage needs, so she faked it with playful trompel’oeil sculptural letterforms placed throughout the Gehry and Associates–designed space."
