Discover Puerto Rico

There are many ways for a designer to create the visual identity of a nation-state. In the case of Puerto Rico, its climate and position on the map makes it a great tourist destination. The white sandy beaches and clear teal water makes Puerto RIco a must see vacation spot. Although the island's natural beauty should be enough to bring people over for tourism, other means are necessary to create an economy around Puerto Rico's ecotourism. One way that designers can contribute to boost this is by creating advertising and promotional material to get more exposure  and persuade people to visit Puerto Rico .  

Jenny Frison is a comic book artist famous for her pencil drawings and traditional renditions of female superheros, such as Wonder Woman. Here, Frison has depicted Wonder Woman in her super hero uniform sporting a sun hat and a fancy drink of some sort. She seems to be enjoying her drink and her time there with a caption reading “ Discover Puerto Rico U.S.A. Where the Americans Meet”. Traditionally, mainland American citizens are the target audience for Wonder Woman comics and promotional content, so it is safe to assume that this illustration was created for the intention of that same audience to consider traveling to Puerto Rico for their next vacation.
