“Orange Blossom Brand” Citrus Crate Label
Item is described as “Crate label used in produce industry from 1900's to 1960's” on it's backside. Orange Blossom Brand is the name of the citrus company created by Arthur Gregory, as stated in bottom right corner. Arthur Gregory was a farmhand in Redlands, California and was the founder of Mutual Orange Distributors, a company that ran up to 40 packing houses in California with hundreds of acres of oranges. According to the Redlands Area Historical Society, Gregory's orange business required so many wooden crates that Gregory purchased 1,500 acres of land in the San Bernardino National Forrest, to acquire the wood for those crates. Labels like this were created to place on the wooden crates as a form of advertisement and communication.
