Lance Packaging Billboard

The Lance Packing Company was established in 1913 by Philip Lance, a Charlotte food-broker, when he accidentally bought 500 pounds of peanuts due to a mix-up with a customer.  They produced and commercially sold the first peanut-butter cracker. They thrived in the thick of the Great Depression because of the cheap price of only one nickel per pack of crackers. 

The advertisement showcases 4 different kinds of crackers made by the company including Malt, Toast Chee, Toasty, and Van-o-Lunch. This Lance Packing Co. billboard advertisement stood at the corner of Pecan Ave and Independence Blvd. in Charlotte, NC.
