The Socialization of Agriculture

850

'The Socialization of Agriculture,' 1930, is a poster in the National Library of Scotland's Woodburn Collection that compares the land given to individuals (yellow), the collective (pink), and the state (red) from before the first five-year plan to its predicted finish. 'The tremendous scope of collectivization assures the completion of the five-year plan tasks shortly,' says the text in the lower right.

The scale of this poster series reflected the country's transformation. The collection's posters have a Constructivist design approach with a proletarian theme.  The designs overlay simple charts on photomontages of the data's subject matter.
