“During school days, I worked as a package designer for a company which exported shower and bathroom products to neighboring countries. All lines were named after wild flowers. My job was to paint those flowers on each package. I used to stroll through the nearby forest searching for the flowers. I would place them in a glass of water, carefully studying the best angle to paint each one. Years later, the experience of studying those flowers helped me tremendously as I worked as a botanical illustrator for the science department at Tehran University and the Botanical Gardens. I illustrated botanical books and guide booklets for students and wildlife enthusiasts.”

در دوران مدرسه، به عنوان طراح بسته بندی برای شرکتی کار می کردم که محصولات حمام را به کشورهای همسایه صادر می کرد و همه ی کالا ها به نام گل های وحشی نامگذاری می شدند. کار من این بود که آن گل ها را روی هر بسته نقاشی کنم. من عادت داشتم به جستجوی گل ها در جنگل های نزدیک بروم . گل ها را در یک لیوان آب قرار می دادم و با دقت بهترین زاویه را برای رنگ آمیزی هر کدام انتخاب می کردم. سال ها بعد، تجربه ی مطالعه ی آن گل ها به من کمک فوق العاده ای کرد،چون به عنوان تصویرگر گیاه شناسی در گروه علوم دانشگاه تهران و باغ گیاه شناسی مشغول به کار شدم . من کتاب های گیاه شناسی و کتابچه های راهنما برای دانش آموزان و علاقه مندان به حیات وحش را مصور کردم.
