Copperplate engraving improved the quality and design possibilities of typography. Designers and engravers could create elegant and refined typefaces, including decorative fonts with intricate details. This contributed to the development of unique and aesthetically pleasing typographic styles that enriched graphic design.

The precision and attention to detail associated with copperplate printing have had a lasting influence on modern graphic design principles. In this work, we see how the engraver (who is sadly not mentioned by Michael) pays close attention to the hair-like nature of both the fishbones and the script. Graphic designers have often drawn inspiration from the fine line work, ornate decorative elements, and typographic elegance associated with copperplate engraving in their contemporary designs.
