Original artwork fot a hotel advertisement

The advertisement for a hotel in the town of Gap on the south east of France is based on a photograph which has been seriously retouched. The original photograph has been ‘cleaned up’ to remove any blemishes and unwanted detail. It has then been enhanced with pedestrians, cars clouds, highlights in the trees and a well-swept road. The lettering seems rather tacky given the work that went into ‘photoshopping’ the image. It is marked up to be photographed and would have been printed lithographically by the B. Arnaud printing firm in Villeurbanne, France, from whose archives it comes.
