Graffiti Makes Design History

Graffiti has become a popular form of communication. The earliest graffiti writers started in New York in the 1960s and 1970s. Keith Haring is a good example of a graffiti artist who’s street art came to become a credible art style. Graffiti can also be a form of communication. Keith Haring once said “the drawing itself is a signature.” From the article “Keith Haring's Greatest Hits,” they address Haring's Pop Shop in downtown Manhattan in 1986  as a moment that helped prove the “commercial viability of graffiti art.” This turn in the way graffiti was looked at helped to turn it in to a digital medium as well.
